    Plywood Monsters

I make wooden banks wth 1/2" plywood, using a somewhat similar process, with a lot more layers. I use CAD (cute and draws), or in plain terms, a pencil, notebook, and my imigination. You used hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars to make something so simple. I use a scrollsaw, sabresaw at times, ROS (random orbit sander) an old router, in a homemade table, and glue. My paints are acrylic latex, works as well or better than hobby paints, and I find them less expensive. Interesting, but you make it sound like it is essential to use all those tools, It ain't. In fact, you can get by with cardboard, a sharp knife, and cheap water colors - I get antsy when I can't get in my shop, so just finished a second 3-cup drink carrier, from cardboard, wood glue, cloth for the outside - lo...

Glued cards on the outside for the heck of it, with handles of elastic from old Fruit of the Loom boxers - my son doesn't like that part. :). Both carriers are sturdy, and work great. Cost of tools, $1 for scissors, ? for wood glue, and time spent. .

I just think that using the computer stuff is not going to inspire new woodworkers. I have no concerns about it, just have a lot more fun wthout them. I think I can figure out how to post an old picture or two. New designs are not as complex, even tho they look like it. Don't make the figure banks now, but working on a figure that may be used in a 4' tall bank. Cane desgns are much more complex now also. These are all old old projects.

    DIY Mag Stool

No way, all of my magazines that are kept are for looking at, be way too much of a PITA to look for a magazine I wanted to look at. However, would be an excellent way to use all the cardboard boxes that accumulate, and are such a PITA to dispose of. Just cut them to size and substitute the pieces for the magazines. Now that I could go along with.

You would not "need" a 3D printer to make this. The design is neat, but I consider it a simple to make out of wood project. If I were to make one (out of wood), I would likely put in pots for the plants, then you could change plants easily if desired.
