Sincerely, Thank you for changing the title.I have a lot of cancer in my family, so this Cayenne claim caught my eye. 17. This may beagain related to cayenne’s high quantity of capsaicin, a substance that might help stop the formation of tobacco-induced lung tumors. Other studieshave also shown a similar reaction in cayenne’s resistance to liver tumors.”Dr. Group put a lot of conditional phrases (‘may help prevent’, ‘may be related’, and ‘might help stop.) in his three sentences on this. The study he references (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20219962 'Randomized trial of vitamin D supplementation to prevent seasonal influenza A in schoolchildren’) found a possible correlation between cancer prevention and capsaicin while studying something else entirely. With rigorous testing, these correlations sometimes hold up, but are often found to be statistical oddities proving nothing. The second source (http://www.3fatchicks.com/8-health-benefits-of-cay... does claim that cayenne has cancer fighting properties but has no supporting sources that I can find. The author is listed as ‘Sequoia', but I don’t find any information about the training she’s gotten to make this claim. Many diseases can be easily identified and cured in the early stages by trained medical professionals. I really do appreciate you changing the title because I see many internet ‘cures’ based on anecdotal or sources that aren’t thoroughly researched, and my fear is that desperate people will try these untested solutions and put off seeking medical help until it’s too late.
