I recommend purchasing a set of disposable adhesive EKG gel electrodes to test the transmitter. You should get an extremely clean signal. If you don't then I would suspect the transmitter DRL signal is not being properly produced, or perhaps the snap receptacles on the transmitter are corroded or damaged in some way. If you get a clean signal, the problem is definitely the sensor.
