kudos for this project. I have done similar things with mortar and styrofoam on a much smaller scale for mosaic work. 2 suggestions-I have used an electric carving knife for carving the foam, works great, some people make their own hot knife from wire and a power source. second-to secure it, if you are able to insert PVC pipe up the center from the bottom (usually while building it) you can slide that down over a post or piece of rebar sticking up from the ground as a way to keep it in place. Got my vote BTW.

I am absolutely floored. I have been working with glass for several years and bottle cutting drives me crazy with its unpredictability. I never would have attempted those spiral cuts. I have watched a couple of your vids and cant wait to try this. I have some square bottles I have been wanting to cut with this technique. Thanks for the tips!

I make these often. You can use the sugar free water flavor stix (like you put in a bottle of water) or crystal light or similar products. If you do that you dont need to use sweetener. I also hunt up interesting silicone molds-hearts, candy, flowers, and most recently a snowman. You can also use sugar free jello but the recipe is a bit different-less gelatin and less water.

Question-Does the stove being enclosed like that decrease the heating radiated out into the room? That was my first thought when I saw it, cool idea, but does the enclosure suck up all the heat? It is a great idea, where I live, many people heat house trailers with wood stoves which is horribly dangerous, and this idea might be hekpful.
