Great project. I got the Amazon WS2812B so changed the code to NEO_RGB and PIN 1.I messed with the length and tail and used 44 LEDs. I love it!

Very cool project. I wanted pictures of the part where all the little bits of foam are everywhere and stuck on you and your tools (unless you did it during a windy day) :-)

Sadly, Aeron chair has smaller posts. The swivel post is 7/16 (in the swivel) but the end that goes into the housing is only 10mm. Any chance you can modify the housing with a 10mm hole?

I'm another "always wanted to" guys. Very nice build. Looks well thought out and working from a small(er) garage (garaarge) is a challenge. I absolutely love the color (colour :-) ) combination. BTW You have one more Instagram follower!

I am still in the finishing phase. All printing was spot on and fit very well. I reinforced the joints with copper (12ga) melted into the joints with a solder gun and it's pretty strong now. I'm doing other helmets as well and found that 5mm ss mesh heated with a small torch and pressed into the print when hot works well. Had to reprint the back black pieces as the scale was not working (no big deal). Thanks again for the great work! I'm still figuring out the red color. Not sure what the most accurate red would be.

Amazing work. I would totally pay for the stl for the helmet (on CGtrader?)
View Instructable »I would think the helmet files worth anywhere form $30 to $45. The jet pack worth the same. I have seen good stormtrooper helmet STL's going for anywhere from free to $45.

Great instructable. The two fans you list are very different. The Amazon fan is only half the CFM and current is less than 1 amp which would help as I have a few 1 amp wall warts I want to repurpose. Regardless, I'm building two of these to give as door prizes for a soldering class I teach. Have you tested the Amazon fan?
