With a whole stick of butter, 1/3 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of regular sugar, these cookies seem full of fat and sugar. Where is the "HEALTHY" aspect of these?? They probably are quite tasty...with all that butter and sugar. I won't be making them. Sorry.

Beautiful project. Now, if only the metal legs were a country blue color, this would go perfect in MY livingroom !!!!
- xstfoc commented on Bookman14's instructable Cabbage Condo
But if you attach a leg to the other long side, doesn't that mean the whole top would have to be flipped over onto the ground to put the leg down? It might be even better to put a support leg with some sort of pin (maybe a simple 16 penny nail) on each end so you open the top as far as needed, and adjust the angle of the support leg by pinning the nail through the legs and into various drilled holes in the wooden box frame. Do you think THAT would work the best?
View Instructable »Thanks for the input. I'll mess around with mine as I build it. You know, you can also curve PVC pipe by heating it up with a heat gun or propane torch, you just need to be careful not to entirely melt it. Thanks for listening.

This looks very nice and functional. Is it heavy or cumbersome at all? I was thinking of modifying it, by hinging it on one long side and making a drop down " leg" fastened to the center of the ridge board. That way, you don't have to find a spot to put the cover down after removing it from the lower frame. You would only have to tilt the cover back onto it's "leg" to tend your plants. Do you think that would work okay, even if it means reinforcing/making the ridge-to-hoop connection??? Just a thought. Well done project.

Tapioca flour IS gluten free, but is not very healthy for those watching calorie and carb intake. That 1 1/2 cups of tapioca flour alone has: 600 calories, 156 g carbs and 25.2 g of sugar.

You could also do long dovetails that would slide in from the backside of the shelves. Those would be even sturdier than a glued mortise and tenon. Just a thought. Great instructable.

Has anyone made this and used it for a hotpad or trivet? Did it melt at all, seeing how it was done with nylon-covered paracord? Let us all know how well this project holds up to hot pans and dishes on it.
