seems like a lot of work, used the wrong materials and you lost the use of the door.So apparently, the door did not matter, but easy enough to do this and keep the door. First, are we allowed to used both sides of the door?, the door swings? I would use either styrofoam panels or foam rubber, fiberglass has a much lower ability to absorb sound. I would span the frame you built with the foam and not screw down the wall board, I would even have thinner wallboard and use two layers with foam between them, talk about decoupling. Do the same on the other side, if you used an overlapping joint in the middle you would get a better soundproofing and still have use of the door. Thanks for making me think about this.
