Introduction: (no) Butter (no) Chicken Curry
Curry is just my favourite food 🤤 (besides Burgers obviously!) I could seriously eat curry daily. And this one definitely doesn't disappoint! It may even be better than some of the curries I had in Nepal last year 🤐
Step 1: Ingredients + Tools
Curry Ingredients (serves 6) :
- 500g Soya Chunks
- 5ml Chilli Powder
- 5ml Ground Turmeric
- Pinch of Salt and Pepper
- 1 Onion - diced
- 7ml Garam Masala
- 2.5ml Chilli Powder
- 2.5ml Cumin
- 2.5ml Cayenne Pepper
- 7ml Grated Ginger
- 2.5ml Cinnamon
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 260ml Tomato Sauce
- 250ml Water
- 1 tin of Coconut Cream
- 15ml Coconut Oil for frying
Serving Ingredients :
- Rice or Naan bread :) Whichever you prefer.
- Large Frying Pan
Step 2: Prepare Soya
Prepare your soya chunks according to the packet - I just had to soak mine for an hour 😊 Yours might need cooking or you may be ready to start straight away!
Next, marinate the soya in 5ml chilli, 5ml turmeric, salt and pepper for at least 15 minutes 😀
Step 3: Start Cooking!
Heat the coconut oil in the frying pan.
Sauté the onions till they're soft (Recipes always say 10 minutes, but I've never cooked an onion that quickly 🙄)
Cook the spices until fragrant (you'll know this curry is going to be a GOOOOOD one after you smell these spices 🤩)
Add the tomato sauce, water, coconut cream and soya.
Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or until they curry is the thickness you like 😀
Season to taste!
Step 4: Serve!
I bought some delicious Butter Naans to have with our curry 🤩
Post a photo below of your curry! I'd love to see the end result 😍
