Salt and vinegar makes hydrochloric acid.... Be careful of inhaling the fumes. Use gloves.

you can use just baking soda and vinegar for an extra burnt pot or tray; bring to boil on stove and leave cool, preferably overnight, then wipe clean

Add some essential oils to it for extra crud-cutting power, such as lemon, orange or lower grade lavender (no need for therapeutic grade oils with this, so save yourself some money). This mix also works great for scouring off glass cooktops, bathroom fixtures/sinks/toilets etc. Although I'd dump it all in the toilet first, then use a toilet brush.

Is it okay that vinegar fall in love immediately with baking soda?

Wouldn't it be easier if you'd just let it sink in for a while? Or is that not enough?

the vinegar's acid helps clean it

so you rub the baking soda onto the pot, then use the vinegar soaked towel to rub the baking soda off. then after it becomes clean rinse everything off

Using the salt and baking soda as fine abrasive, and the acid from the vinegar to clean, nice idea.
