I did this hack for my son's room and I LOVE how it turned out! The best part about it was that it was less than $10 to do and was completed in just a few shorts hours.

Step 1: Create the Letter

I purchased the large E, smaller wooden letters, and the paint at Hobby Lobby. I later found out that Walmart also sells the exact same letters for a cheaper price (though I like supporting craft stores!). The letters come in all different sizes, so you can choose the thickness & size that best suits you!

1. Paint your letter a solid color and allow to dry. I chose to paint the entire letter white so that the gold coloring would be more prevalent.

2. The next step is to use tape to outline your chevron pattern. You can decide just how thick or spaced out you'd like this to be.

3. Spray paint your second color (gold in my case) and allow to dry.

4. Remove the tape from step 2, and touch up any spots that might have been removed from the tape (depending on what tape you use, this shouldn't take you very long!)

5. OPTIONAL: Add a first or last name in smaller wooden letter along the side of the letter. I thought this looked super cute and more personalized! Make sure to use an adhesive glue to get maximum hold (I used E6000).

Step 2: Create the Gold Frames

I picked up these bad boys at Dollar Tree (who knew they even sold these there!). I will warn you though, that these are not meant to stick around for years and years. If you are looking for more permanent decoration, I would suggest spending more on higher quality frames. I loved the look of assorted frames (style wise), but you can of course choose to have them all be the same and vary them in sizes instead.

1. Remove the backs, glass, and paper.

2. Lay a trash bag (or anything to protect your sidewalk from the spray paint) and spray the frames your desired color

3. Allow to dry

4. Repeat if needed until the frames are covered

5. Add your photos!

Step 3: Put It All Together

This is the fun part! Looking at this now, I could have done a better job at spacing them more evenly.. but I doubt my 18 month old really cares, right? All in all, this project is easy to do and is incredibly affordable. Have fun with it!
