Introduction: BBQ Beer Brats

About: I used to work for instructables.com, now I just make stuff. // follow me to see what I'm up to: https://www.echoechostudio.com

I was learning how to use the new Instructables Android App, and decided to try it out at a friends cookout this week.

I made one of my all time favorite BBQ treats, Beer Brats.

Step 1: Heat Up Your Beer!

For this recipe, you are going to want to use cheap beer. I've tried with fancy beers, and it's just not as good.

Crack a beer into a sauce pan over medium heat, and heat it until it is simmering.

Step 2: Simmer in Beer

Reduce the heat, and add your sausages. Cook for about 8 minutes.

Step 3: Drain From Beer

Drain your sausages with a colander over the sink, then move them to the grill.

Step 4: BBQ the Brats!

Cook the Brats over medium heat until they are the desired amount of brown. Serve on a toasted bun with some fancy mustard. YUM!!

This is the only way I cook brats. I throw a sliced onion and a bunch of cloves of garlic in the beer with the brats. Once I take the brats out to grill them, I saute the onions and garlic until the brats are done, and then serve everything together. AMAZING!!!!

I return the brats to the beer, so they remain hot for later consumption.
