Introduction: Bacon Wrapped Steak Bites

Bacon wrapped steak bites is a simple and easy to make family favorite that is great for tailgating, backyard BBQ or dinner on any given weekday.

This recipe serves about 4.

Step 1: Ingredients:

1 lb. of steak cut into cubes (I often use beef for stew to quicken the process, make sure its the chunks not the shredded kind)

1 lb. bacon

McCormick Sea Salt Grinder

McCormick Peppercorn Medley, Grinder

McCormick Thyme Leaves

Round Toothpicks

Aluminum Foil

Step 2: Mix the Spices in a Bowl:

The ratio is: 1 part pepper, 1 part thyme, 2 parts salt

I usually use:

1 Tablespoon of salt

1/2 tablespoon of pepper

1/2 tablespoon of thyme leaves

(You may have to do this more than once)

Blend the spices together.

Step 3: Roll the Steak in the Spice Mixture:

Roll the steak cubes into the spice mixture covering four sides.

Step 4: Wrap the Steak With Bacon:

Cut the bacon package in half before you open it. the plastic allows you for maintain a good grip and keeps the bacon together for a clean even cut.

Wrap it around the four spiced sides to hold the spices against the meat.

Stick a toothpick through the end of the bacon, through the steak, and through the other side of the bacon.

Step 5: Cook the Steak:

Place a large piece of aluminum foil over the grill with the edges slightly lifted (this is to keep the grease off the grill to prevent grease fires

Preheat the grill on high heat and allow it to get up over 600 degrees.

Using the the tooth pick place the bits about 1 inch apart on the foil. Cook on the first side for about 5 mins.

Flip the bits (carefully to ensure the toothpicks don't poke a hole in the aluminum foil...draining grease onto the fire....that would be bad), cook for about 3 more mins.

Step 6: Serve:

Pile them on a plate, serve and enjoy.
