Introduction: Raspberry Pi "Pie Case"

My old laser-cut Pi case broke so I decided to make my own one out of salt dough which protects the Pi, costs almost nothing and is biodegradable. WARNING: You will probably SPEW if you eat this pie!

Step 1: What You Will Need.

To make this you will need:

1/2 cup Plain flour. Do NOT use self-raising flour.

plastic wrap

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup salt

ramakin about the size of the raspberry pi

mixing bowl

Step 2: Mixing

Add the flour, salt and water in and start mixing. Keep mixing and kneading until the dough is not powdery or wet, but stretchy and has no lumps. If it becomes very crumbly add more water or add more flower if it is too wet.

Step 3: Making the Lid of the Pie

Split the dough in 1/2 and flatten one piece out. Then place the ramekin on top and cut out a circle about an inch bigger than the ramekin.

Step 4: Making the Base of the Pie

Flatten out your dough with a rolling pin but make sure its not too thin or else it will fall apart. Now pick up your dough and place it on the upside down ramekin. Cut around the edges so you have only the base of the pie.

Step 5: Cutting Out the Holes

Wrap your Raspberry Pi in plastic wrap to protect it from getting muck on it and then place it upside down on the base of the pie. Cut holes approximately where the plugs go in.

Step 6: Baking

Slide the lid and base of the pie on to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place it in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (365 degrees Fahrenheit) and keep baking until hard. WARNING: Do not put your raspberry pi in the oven.

Step 7: Finish!

Take the pie out of the oven and using a knife remove the pie from the ramekin. Place the Pi inside the pie and connect the cables through the holes and place the lid on top. I drew pictures on the top with pens. If the holes are too small make them bigger using a sharp knife.

You now have yourself a Raspberry Pi "Pie Case".
