Introduction: Black Bean Burgers (video Recipe)

***note concerning the black bean burgers...if you added the avocado and you find the mixture a bit too moist and not holding it's shape just add a bit more bread crumbs to your mixture.***
Step 1: Gather and Prepare Your Ingredients
1/2 onion - chopped
4 cloves of garlic
16 oz. cooked black beans
Approx. 1 medium sized roasted red pepper chopped
1 cup of Panko or your desired bread crumb
1 tsp. cumin
2 tsp. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
Salt - to taste
1 Avocado - optional
Your choice of cheese - sliced
Your choice of toppings and buns
Step 2:
Add garlic to a food processor or mash together with 1/2 the amount of black beans.
Step 3:
Add the mixture from the food processor to a large bowl and continue to combine the ingredients.
Add in onions, roasted red peppers, bread crumbs, cumin, chilli powder, cayenne pepper, salt and the avocado.
Step 4:
Combine the ingredients well. Usually by hand works best. Then proceed to shape into burger patties. The recipe makes for four decent sized burgers.
*If you added the avocado and find the mixture too moist or not holding it's shape well add more bread crumb to the mixture.
Step 5:
Preheat oven to 350F
Step 6:
Meanwhile grill or panfry - with a little oil until browned or golden brown.
Step 7:
Place patties on a baking sheet, add cheese and place in oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Step 8:
