Introduction: Bump Free Clothes Hanger
I'm tired of hanger bumps. Here's a bump free hanger for less than a buck.
Step 1: Materials
What you'll need:
- a coat hanger
- 1/2" polyethylene pipe insulation. It's found at your local hardware store and usually comes in 6-foot lengths (which will make three bump-free hangers). It comes in pre-split or closed, doesn't matter which one you choose.
- two zip ties
- scissors
Step 2: Cut the Pipe Insulation Into 2' Sections, and Split.
If the insulation is not "pre-split" go ahead and split one of the sides.
Step 3: Poke a Hole With the Scissors in the Middle of the Insulation.
Step 4: Feed the Hanger Hook Through the Hole.
Step 5: Place the Remainder of the Tubing Over the Hanger and Place the Zip Ties on the Ends.
Step 6: Trim Off the Excess Zip Ties.
You can trim off the excess insulation, or just leave it, depending on the clothes you're using it for.
