Introduction: CNC ROUTER HOME MADE

This is my first homemade cnc router.

Step 1: HOW TO MAKE AN CNC ROUTER AT HOME

Hello everyone, in this review i want to show how i made my first cnc router at home. The most parts i have bought from the local diy store. The tools used to make the router are very simple and are finded in every home. So i have used: hammer, screwdriver, plier, saw, tape line, drill machine, vise and wrench.

Step 2: LIST OF THE PARTS USED

---------ELECTRONICS----------

3x nema 23 steppermotor (i have used 1,2 N)

1x arduino uno board

1x A4988 driver cnc shield expansion board v3 (i have used cables)

3x A4988 driver module

3x mechanical end stop

1x pc fan

1x power source (i have used my pc 12v power source)

1x mini mill machine

1x usb a/b cable

some cables

github free universal g-code sender

----------MECHANICAL------------

plywood

wood screws

12x m5 screw for nema 23 motors

3x m8 threaded rods

3x m8 long nuts to make the anti backlash nuts

8 mm pneumatic hose to make the couplers

6x slide drawers to make the linear guides

corner brakets to join the plywood and motors

Step 3: THE TABLE

For the table i have used 600x300x18 wood plate.

Step 4: THE PORTAL

For the portal i have used 600x200x18 wood plate.

Step 5: JOIN THE PORTAL

To join the wood plates i have used corner brakets.

Step 6: LINEAR GUIDES

As linear guides i have used slide drawers.

Step 7: THE Z AXIS

This is the z axis.

Step 8: THE X AXIS

Mounting the z axis on the x axis, first i have glued and after i have screwed.

Step 9: THE Y AXIS

After i have fixed the x-z axis on the portal i have mounted the portal on y table.

Step 10: THE ANTI BACKLASH NUT

This is how i made the anti backlash nut.

Step 11: ANTI BACKLASH NUT, THE M8 SCREW AND COUPLER

This is how i made. The anti backlash nuts it is made from a long m8 nut , the screw it is made from a m8 threaded rods and the coupler it is made from an 8 mm pneumatic hose.

Step 12: THE SCREW AND NUT MOUNTED ON Z AXIS

Step 13: NEMA 23 MOTOR MOUNTED ON THE Z AXIS

Step 14: MAKING THE ELECTRONICS

I do not have used the cnc shield v3 (but it is more eazy with shield), and i connected the a4988 drivers module with wires to the arduino uno board.

Step 15: COOLING FAN

To cool the a4988 drivers module i have used a 12v , 80 mm fan.

To power the electronics i have used my 12v pc power source.

Step 16: THE SOFTWARE

To control the machine i have used GRBL GITHUB UNIVERSAL G CODE SENDER.

Step 17: MINI MILL

I have mounted a 170w minimill machine.

Step 18: TESTING ON WOOD PLATE

Here i make a test on the wood plate.

Step 19: SETTING AND TESTING THE CNC ROUTER

So it was very easy to made the cnc at my home with very poor materials and the result it is very good especially for beginners. I hope you enjoy reading this review and start to make your one cnc router.
