Introduction: Pleated Bangles (made From Cardboard)

About: Hi everyone! I'm a hardcore DIY'er, I've published 11 DIY books, just produced my own TV show called Make Your Mark for PBS/APT, I make YouTube videos every week and I'm buried under a mountain of craft suppl…

These bangles are super sturdy, colorful and inspired by the spring runway shows. Make them in any size to fit your wrist and paint them in any way to match your style.

Step 1: See How I Made Them Here

Step 2: You'll Need

Cardboard (I like recycled boxes from the post office)

Americana Multi-Surface Paints

Americana Triple Thick Glaze

Ruler

Hot glue gun

Scissors

Krylon metallic gold spray paint

Paintbrush

Step 3:

Draw 1" to 2" wide strips on your cardboard and cut them out

Rub one strip along the edge of a table to curve it

Hot glue it in a size that will fit over your wrist

Step 4:

Pleat two cardboard strips (about 1/2" folds or less)

Glue a pleated strip to the edge of your cardboard cuff

Continue all the way around

Step 5:

Spray paint the entire cuff in Krylon Metallic Gold and let it dry

Paint the bangle in an Americana Multi Surface Satin color that you like leaving some of the gold showing on the edges

Step 6:

When the paint dries, coat the entire cuff in the Americana Triple Thick Glaze and let it dry for at least one hour.
