Step 1: Get Box, Glue, Chicken Wire, Scotch Tape, Newspaper, Whiffle Ball, Paint
The glue is for the paper mâché recipe. You can use whatever recipe you want, I used 1 part wood glue to 2 parts water. It worked out good for me.
Step 2: Trim Box and Cover in Chicken Wire
Make a big chin by rolling the wire around the flap of the box. Attach the wire by bending it around the sides of the box.
Step 3: Wrap in Scotch Tape
The paper mâché won't stick to the chicken wire so the tape is just to give a base for the mâché.
Step 4: Form a Nose, Hearing Aid, and Ears From Chicken Wire and Cover in Tape. Attach With Extra Wire
Roll up scotch tape like a tube to make the brow, mouth, and wrinkles. It doesn't have to be perfect at this point. The paper mâché layers will even everything out next.
Step 5: Cover in Paper Mâché
2 layers is best. It needs to dry a day for each layer. This was my first paper mâché experience so I don't know what recipe is best. I just used 1 part wood glue to 2 parts water. It firmed up nicely.
Step 6: Paint and Use Whiffle Ball Halves As Eyes
I just found some fleshy looking paint at lowes. I used blue fingernail polish for the iris.
Step 7: Make Glasses Out of Paint Stirring Sticks Wrapped in Tape, Add Hair From Fabric Shop
