The working end and standing end exit from the knot in the same direction

Makes a lanyard, zipper pull, key ring fob, etc.

Step 1:

Mane a small bight and bring working end (WE) to the left forming your loop.

Step 2:

Bring WE up through the bight.

Step 3:

Bring WE under the standing end.

Step 4:

Bring WE over one strand of the loop . . . . . .

Step 5:

and up through the bight.

Here the knot closely resembles the carrick bend

Step 6:

Tighten knot.
