Introduction: Children's Sensory Apron

Does your child struggle maintaining focus and concentrating at school or home? Is you child constantly fidgeting with things around the house or at their desk at school? If you answered yes to any of these questions and you think your child could benefit from a sensory apron, we have just the project for you! Create a fun, easy and interactive sensory apron in 20 minutes or less without any sewing! This fun and easy way to create a sensory apron will allow you to create something hugely beneficial on a small budget!

Materials You Will Need:

· Apron

· Zip-lock baggie

· Beads (any kind of your choice)

· Zipper

· "Off The Hook" Yarn

· Curly Gift Bow

· Velcro

Supplies You Will Need:

· Hot glue gun

· Hot glue sticks

Caution: Use hot glue gun under adult supervision and use with caution!

Step 1: Pick the Layout of Your Apron

Before you start to assemble your different materials onto your apron, you will first need to lay out your materials on the apron to make sure everything fits and looks the way you want it to.

Step 2: Prepare Your Glue Gun for Use

Make sure your hot glue gun is plugged in.

Step 3: Curly Gift Bow

Apply hot glue to your curly gift bow.

Flip curly gift bow over and place it on the apron where you had it laid out in step 1.

Hold it in place for 20-30 seconds to secure.

Step 4: Velcro

Apply hot glue to one side of the velcro strip.

Flip velcro over and place it on the apron where you had it laid out in step 1.

Hold it in place for 20-30 seconds to secure.

Step 5: Bag of Beads

Apply hot glue to the top of one side of your bag of beads. (You can also apply glue to the inside of the bag to secure it)

Turn the bag over and place it where you had it laid out in step 1.

Apply pressure for 20-30 seconds to secure.

Step 6: Zipper

Apply hot glue on the edges of the back of the zipper.

Turn over and place zipper on the apron where you had it laid out in step 1.

Apply pressure for 20-30 seconds to secure.

Step 7: "Off the Hook" Yarn

Apply hot glue to one circle of the yarn.

Turn over and place the yarn on the apron where you had it placed in step 1.

Apply pressure for 20-30 seconds.

Step 8: Finished Apron

Now you will have a completed sensory apron that will allow for stimulation for your child. This project should take about 20 minutes or less to complete and should be generally inexpensive. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did!
