Introduction: Chocolate Cupcakes With Bacon Sprinkles

About: There are three Pegasauruses who dwell within this cavernous estuary of design. As the eldest, I am known as Mother, keeper of the bank account, guardian of the social media passwords, and evil enforcer of too…

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Chocolate Fudge cake mix (in a box, 'cause that's how I roll)
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Chocolate Fudge icing
  • Microwave Bacon
  • Muffin tins
  • A large bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Cupcake liners
  • Spoons (for scooping)

Step 1: Gather and Mix

Gather all your ingredients to make sure you have everything you'll need before you begin.

Dump them all into a large bowl. Ok not everything, just the cake mix, milk, eggs. and oil.

Mix them on low for 30 seconds, then medium for 2 minutes, as per the box Lord.

Turn off electric mixer and lick mixing twisty things.

Step 2: Scoop and Bake

Line the muffin tins with liners and poor in the batter. To get them equal, and to limit splatter on the tins, we used a 1/4 measuring cup, and a gravy spoon. I preferred the measuring cup, but my son found the spoon easier.

Bake at 325 F for about 20 minutes.

Step 3: Cook Bacon

Place 4 pieces of bacon on a paper towel, and put them on a plate.

Microwave for 20 seconds.

Cut into pieces.

extra note:

I LOVE microwave bacon. First, it's done in 20 seconds!!! Second, no splatter, so you can cook it in the nude!! (I didn't, but you can if you want. Go for it. I won't tell.) Third, it cooks pretty flat, so it's easy to cut into "sprinkles".

Step 4: Icing and Bacon Them

Yes, I used bacon as a verb...

When the cupcakes are cooled down, icing them, then sprinkle with bacon.

Voila!

Now eat them, all, as quickly and stealthily as you can before anyone else notices you were even in the kitchen....
