Introduction: Chritsmas Dinner Table Decorative Stars

Decorative Stars

We needed some Christmas Decorations and searched for some instructables.

Time: Hard approx. 2 days
Costs: Medium when you have a miter saw. We borrowed one from the tool store
Materials:

  • Wooden boards
  • Glue

Tools:

  • Miter Saw
  • Clamps
  • Sanding paper

Step 1: How to Do It:

First:
For each star you need 10 pieces. I didn't care about the exact size of the finished star, so I just cut pieces of about 15 cm lenght. For the dinner table stars, the pieces are 9 cm long.
Then you have to adjust your miter saw to 18 degrees
Use a wooden board as a guide, because the cuts have to be absolutely correct, otherwise even minimal differences add up and the star doesn't fit any more.

Step 2:

Second:

Adjust your miter saw to 54 degrees.
Also adjust the guide and cut the angles
Layout the pieces to verify

Step 3:

For the thin boards you might need a second guide for extra support.

Step 4:

Sand the edges and glue everything togehter.
Finish with some very fine sanding paper.
