Introduction: Common Lilac Syrup
Hi
Lilac is used in folk medicine, tea from the flowers is used to relieve stress,
relieves migraines, headaches and sore throats....but have you tried lilac syrup?
I had more picked flowers, because I also dried them for tea and made a tincture,
so I also tried the syrup from the rest.
BUT dont forgot leaves, bark, roots are poisonous, they can cause allergic reactions.
Supplies
- Lilac flowers - 100 grams
- Lemons - 2
- sugar - 800 grams
- water - 2 litre
- sorbic acid - very very little ( optional )
Step 1:
- 1 put the plucked flowers into a bowl. Those green stems can cause bitterness, so the less the better.
- 2,3 peeled lemons -there is no need to peel them, but then it can be too lemony and the lilac flavor can be lost.
- 4 pour 2 liters of water
- 5 infuse for 24-48 hours - -I waited 48 hours
Step 2:
- 6 strain
- 7 start cooking, add sugar , stir until the sugar dissolves
- 7-8 add sorbic acid optional
- 8 when it boils, pour the hot syrup into bottles.
I reuse ketchup bottles because it's a great way to help nature but also your wallet
- 9 I sterilized them for 20 min - optional
Here they are...the last 3 bottles, 1 has already laid its contents on the altar of hydration.
- note: Some people sterilize, some people don't.
- the amount of sugar is adjustable,
- more sugar - more thick
Thanks bye .
