Custom Golden Girls Crayons

"Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant..."

And when you make the card that goes along with the biggest gift, why not make it with a set of custom Golden Girls-inspired crayons?!

As a die-hard fan of The Golden Girls, I've put together a little weekend or evening project to make with your truest friends as you nibble on cheesecake and binge watch Season 5 of The Golden Girls.

Just follow the easy instructions and be sure to print enough for everyone at the party.

Materials:

• 1 Sheet regular printer paper
• 1 Sheet printable cardstock (60lb or heavier)
• Printer
• Scissors or Ruler and Craft Knife
• Gluestick
• Cheesecake

Step 1: Remove the Wrapper From Store-bought Crayons

Peel the wrapper from all the crayons in the box, being careful not to break the crayons.

Step 2: Print New Labels

Print the new labels using a color printer. Print at 100% so the crayon labels print at full scale. I recommend using regular copy paper so it rolls easily. Avoid using photo papers or cardstock. You can try using full sheet label paper but it isn't necessary.

Step 3: Cut Out Labels

Use sharp scissors or a craft knife and straight edge to carefully cut out the labels. You will get a much more professional result if you cut just inside of the border so there isn't any white space on the edges of the labels.

Depending on the brand of crayon you use, you might need to trim the label a bit to make it fit without overlapping on the design. Test fit one to be sure before applying glue.

Step 4: Apply Glue

Apply glue stick to the back of the label. I recommend a clear glue stick. You can also try roll on double sided tape, but avoid using wet glues because they will wrinkle the paper.

Step 5: Roll on the Labels

Start by aligning the edge of the label on the crayon and carefully roll the crayon to adhere the label. Hold the edge of the label on firmly for a few seconds to make sure it sticks.

Step 6: Package

Take your crayons and package them in the cellophane bag, or better yet, put them in a custom box and give as a gift along with the Golden Girls Fan Art Activity book. Serve with a slice of cheesecake during a Golden Girls marathon.
