Introduction: DIY Cell Phone Cases

SIMPLY WATCH THIS VIDEO..

OR SEE FULL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW... BUT FOR MORE FUN, WATCH THE VIDEO! ;)))

In this tutorial I will show you how to make some super cool DIY cases! And the best thing is that you can use your favorite colours and create designs to your liking! I came up with a similar idea more than a year ago, where I applied the inks onto a white phone case(which looked well cool btw), but couldn't varnish them afterwards.. so this time I have decided to do it in a different way and it worked perfectly!!! I couldn't be prouder of myself! :)))

It could honestly not be easier to make these DIY cases, so I certainly hope you will have a go at making them yourself ;)

If you do, then please send me a picture of your creation! And don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow me on social media! I bet you don't want to miss any of my other projects ;)

Step 1: What You Will Need

You will need the following:

alcohol inks (Inks I used: Zig-Kuretake Kcr-Refills Brilliant B2 set and also Tim Holtz Adirondack inks - all from Amazon)

rubbing alcohol - ordered from Ebay

gloves

any object with a flat surface for applying the ink

piece of felt

scissors

cloth or paper towels

strong glue-I used all purpose glue

work surface-I used a canvas still sealed in plastic

some sort of dotting tool to apply ink-I used the top of a marker pen

clear phone case made out of hard plastic- Ebay purchase (bought for about $2)

pencil

white paper

cutting matt

x-acto knife

Step 2: Prepare Your 'stamp'

Cut your felt and glue it onto your selected object. Let it dry for a few minutes.

Step 3: Ink Application Step 1

Add a bit of the rubbing alcohol and your favorite inks onto the felt and start 'stamping' the inside of your case.

Step 4: Ink Application Step 2

Use your dotting tool to apply more inks, alternatively you can splatter them onto the surface, but the dotting tool will give more control over what you are doing.

Once you are happy with your design, dip the cloth into some rubbing alcohol and carefully clean up the edges.

Let them dry ideally overnight- although the inks will be touch dry within minutes.

Step 5: Cut the Paper

Draw around your phone with the pencil and cut the shape out. Put it inside the case and draw around the camera hole. then cut it out using the X-acto knife.

Insert the paper back into the case and you have just made yourself a cool phone case!!!!

Step 6: Finished Cases

All done! What do you think??

I really can't help it, but I keep coming up with new ways of using the alcohol inks :) So don't forget to follow my creativeness to make sure you don't miss any of it! ;)

Bye bye x
