Cars 3 is coming out and my brother is SUPER EXCITED! He loves Lightning McQueen so I decided to make him a Giant Lightning Bolt Pillow so that he can snuggle with it. This project is a no-sew craft so it's super easy to make. All you need is a yard of fleece, some scissors, and stuffing!

Step 1: Materials

You will need:

scissors
marker
1 yard of yellow fleece
stuffing/poly-fill

Step 2: Draw, Draw, and Cut!

First fold your piece of fleece in half. (It usually comes already folded in half from the fabric store, so if it already is, you don't have to fold it in half.) Then draw a giant lightning bolt leaving space around each side. I just Googled "Lightning McQueen's Bolt" and tried to copy the shape. After it's drawn, draw a line about 3 inches away from the first line you drew. Cut along this line.

Step 3: Lots and Lots of Strips!

After it's cut out. Flip over the fleece so that the side with the marker is facing in. (You don't want to see the marker on the outside of the pillow.) Now cut little strips 3 inches in all around the lightning bolt. I made them about half an inch.

Step 4: Tie Again and Again and Again and Again...

Once you have all the strips cut, tie each pair of strip together. I went back and double knotted everything to make sure that it's tight. Leave about 5 or 6 strips untied so you can stuff your pillow.

Step 5: Stuff and Shape!

Now stuff your pillow to your liking. You can make it super soft, or super firm depending on how much stuffing you put. Make sure to push the stuffing all the way to the corners to shape out your lightning bolt. Once you're done, tie the rest of the strips closed.

Step 6: That's It! Hug Away!

That's it! You're done! It's so cuddly and soft! Ka-Chow! I can't wait to go see the movie too!
