DIY Glow in the Dark Lanterns

For this project, we will be making glow in the dark lanterns. These can be used to entertain children, or just to be made as a fun craft.

Supplies

Newspaper

Glow Sticks

Clear Jar/ Mason Jar

Scissors

Glitter

Optional: Sifter

Step 1:

To prepare for this project, you will want to lay newspaper down on the flat surface you will be working on.

Step 2:

Choose the color glow stick you would like to use. Use 2 glow sticks of the same color to ensure a bright color.

Step 3:

You will crack the glow sticks so that they will start to glow.

Step 4:

Next, cut the tip off the glow sticks and empty contents into the clear jar.

Step 5:

(Optional): Use a sifter to ensure that no other debris gets into the jar.

Step 6:

Clean off any materials such as the sifter and the rim of the jar to avoid any further staining.

Step 7:

Now, choose a color for your glitter.

Step 8:

Add as much or as little glitter as you would like.

Step 9:

Make sure the glitter settles in the liquid. This will allow a more even distribution of the glitter in the jar.

Step 10:

Shake the jar around, turn the lights off and enjoy!
