DIY Hot Wheels Track Connetors

Introduction: DIY Hot Wheels Track Connetors

Hot Wheels provide hours of entertainment for children and adults alike. The tracks are fun to build, and with the right pieces, the possibilities are endless. Unfortunately, the right pieces are difficult to come by if they are lost or need to be replaced. We scoured the internet to find connectors, only to discover they were ridiculously expensive and in short supply. Thanks to some imaginative family members, we now have a solution that is super easy and works really well!

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

You will need:
Tracks
Scissors
One connector (not necessary, but helpful)
As many used gift cards, old credit and cards, etc. as you can get a hold of

Step 2: Measure and Prepare a Template

Using a ruler or another connector as your guide, measure the width of the rails. Be as precise as possible so the new connectors will fit tightly.

Step 3: Cut and Test

Using your template, cut down the plastic cards to fit the track. You should be able to get two connectors from one card.

Step 4: Slide Ends Into Your Tracks

Slide the cards into the track ends. The plastic from the cards holds the track together snugly.
