DIY Lava Lamp

How to create a lava lamp out of household items!

Step 1: Supply Roundup

Gather supplies:

1 Water Bottle

1 Cup

Bottle of Vegetable Oil

1 Alka-Seltzer Tablet

1 Bottle of Food Coloring

Flashlight or Cellphone

Step 2: Pour Out Water

Empty out 2/3 of water bottle into cup.

Step 3: Vegetable Oil

Pour vegetable oil into water bottle. Leave about an inch and a half of space between the liquid and top of the water bottle.

Step 4: Food Coloring

Add 10 drops of food coloring into bottle.

Step 5: Let Food Coloring Settle

Allow food coloring to settle at bottom of the bottle for 20-30 seconds.

Step 6: Alka-Seltzer

Break Alka-Seltzer in half.

Step 7: Add Alka Seltzer

Drop Alka-Seltzer into the water bottle and allow the tablet to drop to the bottom of the bottle.

Step 8: Flip

Put the cap on the water bottle then gently flip the bottle upside down and back upright.

Step 9: Flashlight

Place bottle on top of flashlight or phone flashlight.

Step 10: Enjoy

Turn off lights and enjoy.
