Introduction: DIY Smartphone Macro Lens

About: Hi, I'am Epicspoon. Here I will show you the simple projects, DIYS, and life hacks. Enjoy!
This instructable will show you how you can make a good quality macro lens for your phone, tablet, or camer for cheap. All you need is a few tools and household objects!

Step 1: Step 1: Harvesting Your Camera

Start off by getting your hands on a cheap disposable camera. I happened to have on laying around so I used that, but they run anywhere from $1-$7. (Your camera may look different based on what type you buy)

Step 2: Step 2: Opening Up Your Camera

This is where various tools will come in. Most cameras open up different, mine used screws to keep the shell in place other cameras use buttons that you press on. (If your camera contains a battery it is very crucial you remove BEFORE you start working on your camera, as it may result into shock. Also remove any tape of labels preventing the camera from opening)

Step 3: Step 3: Harvesting the Lens

Once your camera is open there should be a lens inside, most lens are held into place inside a mount, either unscrew or pull out the mount. (Be careful when moving the mount there may be a spring attached to it. I removed my lens from the mount so, it can fit more comfortably on my phone)

Step 4: Step 4: Attaching the Lens to Your Phone

There are many ways to attach the lens to your phone; you can use tacky/clay, tape, phone case, or even the mount it came in.

Step 5: Step 5: Have FUN!

Take as many photos as you want, the lens will be blurry from far back so hold your phone 2 inches away from your object (distance varies) Clean your lens regularly and take care off it. This lens can also be used for blur photos, it focuses on an object and blurs out the rest. This is my first post.
