Introduction: DIY Triangle Organizers

About: Hey, I'm Muhaimina! A Craftaholic person (or Witch if you may say!). Obsessed with swirls and polka dots... and Instructables is pretty much my second home! Follow my IG Blog…

Using cardboard for making desk organizers isn't anything new but I had a lot of cardboard boxes and had to use them. I'm really obsessed with the shape 'Triangle' so finally I decided to make organizers but keeping triangle as the focus.
Though they didn't turn out to be as good as I thought but I'm glad that I can keep few of my things organized (finally!)

Follow this ible to find out how I made these cardboard organizers.

Step 1: Materials Needed

To make these cardboard organizers you'll need:

1) Cardboard (obviously!)
2) Scissor and anti-cutter,
3) Glue (hot glue or super glue),
4) Ruler and pencil,
5) Paint and paint brush.

Step 2: Templates

As you can see that I've made 3 kinds of triangle organizers using cardboard. All templates include triangels (love triangles!).
You can easily draw these templates using a ruler and pencil,
Simply draw the templates on a piece of cardboard and cut around the edges of the pattern.

The 1st and 3rd templates include equilateral triangles.
The yellow colored triangles (in each template) are extra triangles, they're suppose to be folded and glued over other triangles, keep that in mind.

Step 3: Triangle Organizer-1

Draw the template-1 on a piece of cardboard and cut it out,
Fold the cardboard along the edges of the triangles,
Notice that I've marked 2 triangles with the letters 'a' and 'b', simply glue the 'a' part (triangle) over the 'b' part (triangle),
Now allow the glue to dry, meanwhile make 5 more of these triangular cardboard baskets,

Color the baskets, otherwise they'll look boring!

You can arrange them as you want but I wanted to arrange them in 3 rows (which turned out to look like an upside down pyramid), 3 baskets in the first row, 2 in the second and 1 in the last row,
I had to cut a large triangle out of cardboard to glue all the baskets together, making sure that the open side of the basket faces upwards, otherwise you won't be able to put anything in them!
I glued the baskets on the large triangle cardboard piece and waited till the glue dried,

Step 4: Triangle Organizer-2

Draw the template-2 on a cardboard and cut it out of the cardboard,
Fold the cutout cardboard along the edges of the trianges,
Again I've marked 2 triangles with the letters 'a' and 'b', you'll have to glue the 'a' part over the 'b' part,
Make 2 more, or as many as you want and don't forget to color them!

Now arrange the triangular baskets on a piece of cardboard as you want and trace around the edges of the baskets and then cut the traced cardboard piece out and simply glue the baskets on it,

Finally attach a hanging mechanism with it.

Step 5: Triangle Organizer-3

This one is fun!

Carefully draw the template-3 on a piece of cardboard and cut it out of the cardboard, this template includes 21 equilateral triangles, 6 extra triangles- which will be folded and glued over other triangles of the main pattern.

Follow the second picture of this step carefully, I've marked 2 triangles, one with an orange circle and another with a green circle, fold the orange marked triangle over the green marked one, making sure that the 2 red spots (corners of both trianlges) meet each other.

Now follow the third picture of this step, after gluing the first 2 triangles you'll have to cut a side of 5 triangles, I've marked those sides with red lines in the third picture of this step,
In the 4th picture I've marked 10 triangles, 5 with- a1,a2,a3,a4,a5 and 5 with- b1,b2,b3,b4,b5. You'll have to fold each a's over the b's,
To be more clear, consider the 5th picture, where I've folded the a1 marked triangle over the b1 marked triangle and glued them, similarly glue the rest of the triangles (a2 over b2, a3 over b3, a4 over b4 and a5 over b5).

Allow the glue to dry and color the basket as you want.

There! done. These cardboard organizers are fun to make, they look quite unique and at the same time you can keep you're stuffs organized in an artistic way!
