Introduction: DIY Welded Grappling Hook
This will teach you to make a grappling hook
Step 1: Get Metal Rods
Use 1/4 inch metal rods for this project.
Step 2: Cut Rods
Cut one of the metal rods to 10 inches. Cut another to 20 inches. Use an angle grinder or bandsaw.
Step 3: Bend the Rods
Bend the 20 inch rod in the middle with a vise and pliers to make a loop in the middle. Then bend the ends to make the hooks. Bend the 10 inch rod to make the third hook. The hooks should open to about 2 inches.
Step 4: Weld Them Together
Evenly space the hooks and line up the shafts. Place a couple of tack welds on each side to hold it together. Weld a bead on each side to finish. Grind them smooth and sharpen the ends of the hooks.
Paint it if you want.

Looks impressive! Have you tried hooking it onto anything and using it to climb?
