Introduction: DIY White Walker Armour From Game of Thrones
How to make the armour the night king wears in game of thrones.
Step 1: Materials
- Rolled craft paper
- Large roll of craft foam
- Super glue
- Hair dryer/heat gun (optional)
- Plasti dip and/or black spray paint
- White acrylic paint
- Velcro strips
Step 2: Create the Pattern
Using your craft paper cut out the pieces for the armour. This should include the body piece, the two shoulder pieces and the middle piece (shown above) make sure you use a reference photo for this step. You will then want to use tape to put the pieces together. Put this on a person and make any adjustments you may need to.
Step 3: Transfer the Pattern
Once you are happy with your pattern take it apart and spread out each piece on top of your craft foam. Use a pencil to trace around the paper then cut out each piece with scissors.
Step 4: Assemble
To assemble the pieces first tape them together then try it on a person and adjust until you are happy with how it looks. Once you are happy with it use super glue to secure it together.
Step 5: Add Details
Next you want to add some details. Cut out small pieces of craft foam with a knife or scissors. With a pencil draw out the area you want to put them on, use a reference photo for this step. Super glue these pieces on.
Step 6: Shape Your Piece (optional)
Use a heat gun or hair dryer on the highest setting to warm up your foam. Once hot it becomes very flexible. Shape your armour to your body and allow to cool. The foam will now stay in this position.
Step 7: Plasti Dip/paint Your Armour
Plastic dip not only colours your armour but makes it more durable as well. If you don’t want to use plasti dip you can spray paint instead. Do a few coats, allowing a few minutes to dry in between. Once satisfied allow to dry for 24 hours
Step 8: Add Straps
Using more foam cut out two strips to be your straps. Paint them to match your armour. Glue on one side of the straps to the armour. Measure where the straps need to go. Glue on your Velcro adding more so you ca adjust them to be slightly smaller or bigger
Step 9: Paint Details
Using white acrylic paint and a foam brush add details. Dry brush paint along the raised pieces to create the look of the armour. Be sure to use the reference photo
