Step 1: Change Your Life ( Well...desk) Today!

The evolution of screwdriver storage is upon us.

  • Gone are the vacuum formed trays in their incredible inefficiency of drivers to squared cm of space used, Plus having to put the correct driver in the designated space allocated for it. (Life is too short for that)
  • Gone are old paint tins that eat short handled drivers for breakfast never to be seen again.

Yes you can have one pot that will neatly and efficiently solve all your desktop screwdriver storage needs.

You will need to acquire..

  • Tin (ideally wider than it is tall)
  • A straight linear edge/metal rule
  • Sample or Off-cut rectangle of carpet, (woven , not foam back is preferable)
  • Knife or scissors, suitable for cutting carpet.

Step 2: Stage One

Measure the distance between the base of your tin and just under the lip of the inside edge.

Depending on the previous occupation of your tin you might want to clean it with a suitable product.

Step 3: Stage Two

Cut the carpet into lengths with a width equal to that of the measurement you obtained in the previous step.

  • You can mark a line.
  • Use a rule as a cutting guide.
  • Or follow the weave of the material.

Does not have to be one contiguous length of carpet.

Step 4: Stage Three

Pack the carpet into the tin.

  • Start at the edge,
  • Pressing it outward to make the center space wider,
  • Almost full..
  • Make a tight roll. grasp it while inserting it into the center to fill it completely.

Step 5: Bask in the Glory

  • We are not waiting for glue to dry,
  • Its held together by friction.
  • Now fill it up!
