Introduction: Diy Tiny Excavator
Hi everyone.
In this instrucatable, I would like to share you how I made this mini excavator. I have made this without any measurements and it has three movable parts too.
The total model is made out of a invitation card and paper. As this is my first attempt in doing a mini model, I kept it simple.
Supplies
- Invitation card (or anyother thin cardboard)
- Paper
- Scissors
- Scale
- Pencil
- Glue
- String (optional)
Step 1: Boom of the Excavator
I didn't use any template for doing it, instead i used an excavator image for my reference.
I just draw the shapes and cut out. If you like to add movable parts just put two holes using a compass or a needle as shown in the picture. Paste it together.
Step 2: Arm / Stick & Bucket of the Excavator
The arm and the bucket part of excavator is also made similarly.
Step 3: Body
The body is made out of three rectangular boxes. (i just forgot to take a pic of the third box 🙄)
Step 4: Track
For the track, I used paper.
Just roll some papers and stick together as shown in the pic. Make another box for the base. Make a hole in the box if you want to have a movable base.
Step 5: Assembling the Parts
Glue everything together.
Make a bigger roll the fits tightly in the big hole and stick it to the body of the excavator.
I used a thin copper wire to attach both the arm and the boom together.
Similarly the bucket and the arm are joined together using wire.
