Step 1: Step 1: Buy Fabric and Elastic

Go to the fabric store and buy about a half of yard of fabric in order to create the bookmark. This gives you room to mess up and practice without having to go buy more fabric. You also need to get a yard of 1/8 inch elastic.

Step 2: Step 2: Cut Fabric

Cut two fabric pieces out with the measurements of 3 by 12 inches wide. Then, cut a piece of elastic to be around 8 inches long.

Step 3: Step 3: Sew Fabric- Using a Sewing Machine

Place the two cut out pieces of fabric right sides together. Sew the long edge sides. Unfold the fabric to be right side out. Then, place the elastic to one of the short edge sides and sew it in place, and do the same thing to the other side. Your elastic bookmark is now complete :)
