Introduction: Engling

In this instructable, I will be teaching you how to make a fantastic spaghetti dinner.

Step 1: Ingredients and Supplies

To do this you will need these ingredients:
-1 box of spaghetti noodles (any brand will do)
    -1 lbs. of ground beef
    -32oz. of tomato sauce
    -some parmesane cheese

To create this great dish you will need:
-medium or large pan (depending on how much sauce you plan to make)
    -pan for bread (optional)
    -large pot with lid
    -large spoon

Step 2: Making the Sauce

To start, put your ground beef into a pan and put the stove top on high. Once the outside of the beef is browned, you may begin to add the tomato sauce. After the sauce is added make sure to let the it sit until the sauce begins to marry (small bubbles begin to form around the edge of the pan) and then set stove on low and stir sauce regularly.

Step 3: The Noodles

Next comes what I believe to be the most difficult step, the noodles. First fill a large pan a little over half way with water. Then put the pan lid loosely on top with the stove top on high until the water is thoroughly boiling. Once the water comes to a boil, add a pinch of salt to the water to give the noodles more flavor. After this, add your noodles and check on them every few minutes by eating one to see if it is completely cooked. When they are done, take the pot to the sink, where your strainer should be placed and pour the contents of the pot into the strainer.

Step 4: Preparation

Now for my favorite part, putting it on your plate! To combine the sauce and the noodles there are a variety of ways to do so, depending on your preferences. For me, I first put the amount of noodles I want on my plate, then I cover them in the sauce. I also sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

For a cheaper version than using a jar of sauce, add a tin of tomatoes, garlic (a crushed clove or squeeze of puree) and a decent pinch of herbs (basil is good, or try rosemary and bay leaf for a different take). If you want you could add a splash of red wine.

Result - good tasting sauce without all those additives, thickeners and the like found in jars of pasta sauce.
