Fall Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice Candle Tutorial

In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a fall scented candle that will fill your residence with the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon!

Supplies

Hot glue gun / super glue
glass jar
tsp measuring spoon
1 dowel / chopstick
candle wick
wax
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
pumpkin spice
large boiling pot
heat safe bowl

Step 1:

Straighten the wick because they are often bent in the package which can cause an uneven burn.

Step 2:

Apply glue to the bottom of the wick and attach to thebottom of your glass jar.

Note: If you are using glue from a hot glue gun you will have to apply the glue and glue the wick to the jar very quickly.

Step 3:

Wrap the excess wick around the dowel or chopstick so that it will be held straight when you pour your wax in.

Step 4:

Place the heat safe bowl in the middle of the pot. Then fill the pot until the water is about halfway up the side of the bowl.

Step 5:

Put the wax into the bowl and heat on medium heat until fully melted, make sure to stir while the wax is melting. This process can take awhile and may vary depending on the pot and bowl. Note: The amount of wax varies upon the jar you choose. You can usually just compare your wax to the size of jar when its solid and make a good guess on the amount needed (it’s not an exact science).

Step 6:

Mix your pumpkin spice, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a small bowl and then add into the melted wax and stir completely. For the small jar used in this example I only used ½ tsp of nutmeg, ½ tsp of cinnamon, and 1 tsp of the pumpkin spice.

Step 7:

Once the spices and wax are totally combined, pour the mixture into the jar. Do not fill the jar completely because you want to leave space for your wick and the lid for your jar. Let the jar cool completely.

Step 8:

Once the wax is completely cooled, remove the dowel or chopstick and cut your wick to the desired length. You would usually want a very short wick in most circumstances.
