Introduction: Faux Fries

High in fiber, low in fat calories, Faux Fries is a filling alternative to greasy fast food French Fries.

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

Ingredients:

· 1 large white potato (Russet, baking, etc.)

· Cooking spray

· Salt, and if desired, other seasonings

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut the potato into French Fry sized pieces.

Step 2: Cook Your Faux Fries.

Cover a cookie sheet with a piece of aluminum foil. (The foil is optional, but it makes for quick cleanup.) Spray the foil with cooking spray. Add the fries in a single layer. Spray heavily with more cooking spray. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt, and if desired, other seasonings such as chipotle or garlic. If you are eating a low sodium diet, skip the salt, and add a flavorful low sodium seasoning. If you are eating low carb, find another recipe!

Put in oven. Bake for 15 minutes. Take the potatoes out of the oven, stir and flip the potatoes. Bake another 15 minutes. As with any recipe, ovens will vary, so adjust the cooking temperature and time, as needed. The finished potatoes will be lightly browned, and very crisp, delicious Faux Fries. This is a nice low calorie snack or side dish. The recipe makes one serving of about 150 calories, depending on the size of the potato. If you are feeding more people, add more potatoes.
