Introduction: Fluffy Blanket

I love cozy things and easy DIYs so if you love those things too....this may be the perfect project for you.

Supplies

2 yards of fabric of your choice
2 yards of fleece fabric
Sewing machine
Matching thread (to fabric of choice color)
Needles
Straight pins
Scissors

This will make a 64in x 60in blanket.

Step 1: Getting Started

To begin, choose which side of the fabric you want on the outside and lay that side face up on a large table. Lay the fuzzy side of the fleece face down on top of the other fabric making sure the fleece covers the fabric. The two sides that you want on the outside should be facing each other at this point. You will turn it right side out after you’ve done the sewing.

Step 2: Pinning

Before sewing the two different fabrics together, you will need to pin carefully around the edges. Make sure the fabric and the fleece are smooth and the edges are matched up. Add straight pins in a line about 1/2 inch from the edge of the fabric. Pin all the way around the entire blanket leaving a 12 inch space open. You will use that space to turn the blanket right side out after the sewing is done.

Step 3: Sewing

Once all the pins are in, use a sewing machine to sew the two kinds of fabric together. Remember to leave a 12 inch gap somewhere so you can turn the fabric right side out when you’re done. This process will take some time so be patient.

Step 4: Finishing

Once you’ve sewed almost all the way around the fabric, turn it right side out through the 12 inch hole you left. Then hand sew the 12 inch space using the same color thread. Wash the blanket before using and then enjoy your new fuzzy blanket!
