This project is like my Galaxy Bottle, only with GLITTER! There are a few different steps, but it is still a fun make for all ages. Instead, today we'll be using a water bottle, but you can use whatever clear bottles or containers you have on hand. I would recommend using a nicer bottle, such as a Mason Jar, but it doesn't really matter.

Materials:

Water
Clear Container (Size doesn't matter!)
Glitter
Glitter Glue/ Clear Elmer's Glue
Metallic Paint (optional)
Food Coloring (optional, but recommended that you use either metallic paint or Food Coloring)

So now you know all of the materials, Let's Get Started!

Step 1: Add Water!

Add water almost to the top. Don't fill it completely, though, or else it will overflow when you add the other ingredients. The temperature of the water does not matter, but I used warm to hot water.

Step 2: Add Food Coloring

Add 2 to 5 drops of any color food coloring. You can mix colors to create new colors, but try not to exceed 5 drops of food coloring. The larger your jar or bottle, the more food coloring you will need.

Swish or mix the water in the jar or bottle to the food coloring spreads.

Step 3: Add Clear Elmer's Glue or Glitter Glue

The amount of Elmer's glue varies from the size of the bottle, and your preference. Just do as much as you think is needed. For bigger jars, use more. For smaller jars, use less. For Glitter Glue, use the same technique. Gauge how much you think will work. You will want a lot of glitter, so keep that in mind!!

*Note: Don't use to much glue. If you do, the glitter will start to stick to the bottom. Be mindful with how much you use!

Step 4: Shake It Up!

Get that glitter or glue moving! Shake up your bottle!

Step 5: Add Glitter

Add your regular glitter into the bottle. Put in as much as you want, the more, the better!

Step 6: Shake, Shake, Shake It Up!

Shake up and swirl your bottle so the glitter gets out of the clumps.

Step 7: Add MORE Glitter

I warned you! You need more glitter! Add more glitter and repeat step 6 (shaking and swirling the bottle)

Step 8: Swirl Your Bottle Some More

Make sure that most of your glitter isn't clumped together or stuck at the bottom by shaking it upside down, side to side, and right side up.

Step 9: *Optional: Add Metallic Paint

If you wish, you can add some metallic paint to your bottle. It will give the bottle some shimmer and shine. But don't use to much!

* Note: I recommend using folkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint, but any metallic paint should work.

Step 10: ADD MORE GLITTER!

I warned you! Add more glitter! Especially if you added Metallic Paint. The Metallic paint can make the glitter seem hidden, so add more glitter!

Step 11: Clean Off Your Bottle/Jar

Clean off your bottle/jar with a paper towel or rag. I recommend also cleaning out your cap so it isn't filled with gunk.

Step 12: Finished!

Give your bottle a swirl and a shake and watch your Galaxy Bottle with Glitter do its thing. Remember to close the cap tightly. You can also glue the cap onto the bottle so it stays closed.
