Introduction: Granny Warm Sweater

About: Being featured means we think you are awesome.

I'm always cold, so I did a sweater to put over my clothes. It's really simple!
Use the wool (or cotton) you want, no problem if you have little of one colour or another: it's always beautiful! You'll need more or less 700 grams of wool for a medium size (I did mine bigger than me), size 4 crochet, yarn needle, one zipper or some bottons (I prefer the zipper).

Step 1: Simple and Warm Granny Sweater

Choose a type of granny square, I chose a flower-like pattern:

1st roung: 6 chain, close in circle with a slip stitch.

2nd r: 12 double crochets in the circle.

3rd r: 3 double crochets every 2 of the previous round (24 d.s.)

4th r: * in a space of the previous round 3 double crochets, in the next space "3 double crochets + a chain + 3 double crochet" all in that space ** repeat 4 times. This round will give the grannu square teh squared shape!

5th r (border): * in a space of the previous round 3 double crochets, in the next space 3 double crochet, in the next space "3 double crochets + a chain + 3 double crochet" all in that space ** repeat 4 times.

Important: read the next step for a note about the border!

Step 2: Crochet the Squares

For a medium size sweater you'll need 128 square. Given they are little, you'll do them in no time :)

If you need a bigger size, simply add a row or a column of square.

The pattern is really simple, it's a T-shape.

You can crochet the border of all the squares then sew them together with a needle or sew them while you crochet the border: to do this just do a slip stitch when passing from a group of three double stitch to another.

Make these rectangles:

2 rectangles 8x3 (open front)

1 rectangle 8x6 (back)

2 rectangles 4x7 (sleeves)

1 rectangle 4x1 (neck, optional)

Sew these rectagles as the T pattern.

Step 3: Finishing

Using a yarn needle sew the zipper (orthe botton) on the front and hide the "tails" that may be left behind crocheting and sewing.

Have a warm life!
