Introduction: Halo PC Graphics at Their Best

About: I am a kid who is upsessed with NERF, airsoft, BB guns, real guns, and paintball. I play and mod NERF everyday. I am Chinese. I live in California. I love art. I draw something about Halo every math period in …
This is sort of an instructable. This might be a little hard for people that do not like reading, but I believe in you to read all of this. Look at those pictures. You may think you can do better and you probably can if you are a halo pc modder. In this instructable I will show how to upgrade your halo pc graphics to the pictures you see. This is a combination of a few mods (I DID not make). I used the following:

1. FTW 1 bitmaps.map

2.This Configuration.txt mod here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9F_38sK2yE

3. ENB series for halo pc here: http://www.filestube.com/b0ff2d3aae8e9ea703e9,g/ENBseries-for-Halo.html

Those are three mods that replace files in the HALO directory. I have ATI control center. These photos I took on the highest settings possible in ATI control center. I took these on 640x480 resolution which isn't that good (due to the lack of strength of my computer), 1600x900 resolution is impossible to play on.

BEFORE MODDING, MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER HAS THE POWER TO RUN THESE GRAPHICS

Remember to back up your maps before modding them. Also NOTE: get Halo Mapping Tools 3.5 and save the cyborg and multipurpose bitmap, then when you install the bitmaps.map file inject those two textures into just one map and then your good.To install the FTW 1 bitmaps.map file, simply copy and paste it to your halo MAPS directory. EX: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/MAPS Test it out.  It is just a texture mod, I'm sure most computers will run it. If not, then replace it with the original bitmaps.map file. If your computer won't run this, then it won't be able to run the other mods. The second mod (configs.txt) will be pretty much the same. Remember, again, back up the configs.txt becuase you might not like this mod. Simply copy and paste the text file in the halo directory. Test it out. If you like it the keep it. If you don't then replace that txt file with the original file. Simple huh? The last one you can adjust yourself. Simply download the enb series. Copy and paste those files to the halo directory. EX: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo. It should work. Run the game. You can enable it and disable it with the simple combination of Shift+F12. Here are my settings:

These settings best fit me and is the settings in the photos provided.Other mods you can look up on google, but you probably won't find much worth anything. To increase your performance on halo read the next paragraph below.

Increase your performance in Halo PC

First, go to the settings menu of Halo pc. Turn the Resolution down to 640x480 for extreme performance. Anti-aliasing might be bad, but it's better than lag. Next, where it says "30fps", switch that to no VSYNC. It helps a lot too. The following script from this point will only have knowledge of ATI usres, but Nvidia might get information out of it. For ATI users, to make performance better go to ATI control center. Next, go to "3D/all settings", Set settings for best performance except for the mipmap detail. After, your Halo pc game might be grainy looking, but will work better if you have a weakish computer. If you don't like it, you can change it back.

Here are some other graphics mods to look at:

This was a project I started about three months ago where I would find a nice graphics mod to rid the bordom that reaks me when I play Halo PC. I hope this helped fix YOUR Halo PC ungly graphics.
