Introduction: Healthy Macroni Salad and Creamy Ranch

For this recipe I will be giving a step to step tutorial on how to make a healthy lunch meal of macroni salad. There were also be a video at the end to look at for visual instructions.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients...

8oz tri-color pasta,1 cup creamy ranch, ½ packaged dressing mix,100g boneless skinless chicken, ⅓ cup shredded cheese, Half apple- peeled,cored,cut, 1 large carrot,peeled and chopped, ⅓ cup raisins, 1tbsp lemon juice,1 tbsp tandoori masala, Half tbsp crushed red pepper and1 tbsp vinegar

Step 2: Step 2: Marinate Chicken

Add 100g raw skinless boneless chicken into a bowl. To marinate add 1tbsp tandoori masala, half tbsp red crushed pepper, half tsp black pepper, hlf tsp salt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp vinegar and mix well. Make sure to let it stay on the counter for 30 minutes before frying.

Step 3: Cook the Chicken

After 30 minutes of the chicken absorbing all the spices add 2 tbsp oil to a frying pan and gently add the chicken in. Switch the sides occasianally and let it cook until it's light brown.

Step 4: Boil Macroni

Add in 8oz tri-color pasta into boiling water, stir occasionally and let it cook until soft and chewable. You can poke a fork to check if it's acceptable to digest.

Step 5: Drain Out the Water

After the macroni has absorbed most of the water, drain out the rest using a colander.

Step 6: Add in Rasins

Measure and add 1/3 cup of raisins into a bowl.

Step 7: Add in Half Apple

Take one half apple and make sure to cut into small pieces. After you've finsihed cutting the apple, add it into the salad bowl with the raisins.

Step 8: Add 1 Large Carrot

Next make sure to cut and peel a large carrot into the salad.

Step 9: Sprinkle Cheese

At this point in the recipe you can add in the chicken and macroni which was made earlier, and sprinkle 1/3 cup shredded cheese on top. Make sure to mix all the ingredients gently and not squish them, but mix well.

Step 10: Sprinkle Salt and Pepper

For a bit of flavour you can sprinkle some salt and pepper over the salad, about half tsp of each because you don't want too much.

Step 11: Make Ranch

To make the ranch all you need is to add 1tbsp mayo in a bowl and sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper, and sugar. To get the sour taste add 1 tbsp of vinegar. Make sure to mix it thoroughly so it won't taste weird.

Step 12: Add in Ranch and Dressing Mix

To top off the recipe and make it taste mouthwatering add packaged dressing mix and the ranch into the salad and mix gently.
