Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Introduction: Homemade Alfredo Sauce

This Alfredo sauce is delicious and easy to make. It tastes very authentic to how Alfredo sauce should taste. We have had it with shrimp, chicken and just fettuccine noodles. We get about 2 cups of Alfredo sauce, however, you may get more or less depending on how thick you let your sauce get. We use 1 cup of sauce per 8 ounces of dry noodles. This recipe can also be found at gardengirlrecipes.com.

2 tbsp unsalted butter

2 cloves of garlic, minced

2 cups half and half

2 tbsp cornstarch

½ tsp Italian seasoning

¼ tsp dried oregano

¼ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

½ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

Step 1: Melt Butter

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2: Add Garlic

Add the garlic and cook until golden.

Step 3: Combine Remaining Ingredients Except Cheese

In a bowl, combine the half and half, cornstarch, Italian seasoning, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Make Sauce

Add the mixture to the cooked garlic and stir well. Using a whisk, stir until the mixture thickens, about 5-10 minutes.

Step 5: Add Cheese

Add the cheese and stir well.
