I was doing some research and it brought me to your blog where you talked about Hand sanitizer is a liquid or gel generally used to decrease infectious agents on the hands. I really enjoy the information you gave on your blog. I must say that this article was written by a pro, please get some information from my blog. Thanks again for the nice write-up. >https://www.cardshure.com/tubidy/

This is a great idea but the resulting product does not meet the CDC recommendations for a virucide which is 60% alcohol.

To make 8 oz of hand sanitizer that has a 60% alcohol solution using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol you would need to use 2/3 cup alcohol and 1/3 cup aloe vera.

    Here's the math -
2/3 cup (5.333 oz) of 91% Isopropyl Alcohol provides 4.85 oz of alcohol (the rest is water)
    5.333 * 91% = 4.85
1/3 cup (2.667 oz) of aloe to make 1 cup (8 oz)
Dividing the alcohol 4.85 oz by 8 oz = 60.6%

My apologies, but in the Supplies section it states the following (I copied and pasted it). Typo?

2/3 cup of 91% Isopropyl Alcohol
    1/2 cups of aloe gel
    A funnel
Melaleuca oil or other essential oils
    Mixing bowl and spoon
    2 Squeeze bottles

That's a great idea, i just use isopropyl alcohol like this without the aloe vera, but the aloe would stop your hands drying out which is a great idea.

Question 1 year ago on Introduction

Math is NOT my forte - but hand sanitizer has to be 60% alcohol to be effective in killing viruses (https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/show-me-the-science-hand-sanitizer.html) and I think this recipe ends up with less than that? And therefore isn't going to be as effective as something with 2/3 cup rubbing alcohol and 1/3 cup aloe vera - this end product is watery and harder to use - but will actually kill corona virus.
