Introduction: Honey & Onion Chest Cold Remedy
Sometimes when having fun in the great outdoors you can get sick, and not have the luxury of being near a pharmacy... this is especially true during the winter. Be prepared with this naturally delicious concoction!
I recently caught a cold that turned from bad to worse, eventually leading to a horrible chest cold. I was able to find and improve an all natural recipe that completely annihilated the mucus in my lungs!
It's super simple!
Step 1: Grab....
Grab
-a small pot
-onion
-knife
-cutting board
-pepper grinder
-and honey
Step 2: Cut and Simmer...
Dice the onion. You can use a half or whole onion depending on how much you want to make. Place the onion into a small pot and pour the honey over it. Use enough honey to completely cover the onion. simmer on your stove top's lowest setting, stirring occasionally until the onions are tender and the syrup has thickened.
~From what I've read, Onions can work as a natural anti-biotic. They help to strengthen the immune system, and in this case works as an expectorant (loosens up mucous so it can be coughed up.)
~The high amount of enzymes, nutrients, and all around yummy goodness in honey helps to kill bacteria and viruses that can cause the common cold.
Step 3: Grind...
Use a pepper grinder to crack a bit of pepper into the mix as the syrup starts to caramelize.
The Capsaicin in pepper helps to thin mucus and provide relief from congestion.
Step 4: Take Your Medicine.
What your left with is an all natural congestion killer. Not only that, but it tastes good too! Take 2 tablespoons every couple of hours. Store the remainder in a small jar.
This stuff knocked my chest cold out in a matter of days. It was the only thing that worked for me, and I hope it works for you too.

would you store this in the refrigerator? I'm currently sick and taking it, but every 2 hours seems excessive. I'm definitely repeating onions! Hope it works
