Introduction: How to Make Delicious Ice Cream or Smoothie Out of Snow!
Currently, here on the East Coast There is 2 feet of snow on the ground. I have been making snow ice cream for years, mut it would turn watery quckly. It also did not taste like real ice cream, more of a snow cone. There is more than enough snow to experiment with. There are infinite possibilities with this recipe. I will show how to make three and give you some ideas. If you skip putting it in the freezer you get a very good moctail!!
Step 1: The Basic Recipe
So snow ice cream is the following plus a flavoring:
½ a cup of heavy cream
½ a cup of sugar
a bowl of snow
your flavoring
When you have finished mixing things up,put it in the freezer for about a half an hour to thicken it up(it does not take long to freeze snow)
Step 2: How to Make Strawberry
We got,for no particular reason, some frozen strawberries at Target. The juice in there is great for ice cream-making.Throw the sugar,a half cup of strawberry juice, some heavy cream, and (optional) a little bit of vannilla extract. mix well,be sure to get rid of lumps, and put in the freezer for about a half an hour(to thicken it) Serves 1.It has a nice pink color. It tastes great!
Step 3: How to Make Vinnilla
Get a bowl of snow,do step 1(the cream and sugar) and theroughly mix in about a tablespoon of vanilla extract.Throw in the freezer for a half hour and you're done!
Step 4: Make Orange-Strawberry-Banana
This is the step 1 recipe and about ¾ of a cup of this juice i found at the store and ¼ cup of that strawberry-stuff.
Step 5: Ideas
you can make the step 1 recipe and just add anything you want!! there are infifnite possibilities!!

Thanks, this is what I been doing this past winter... You can also use the same flavoring soft-serve mixture restaurants are using in 2-2.5 kg bags!!! You only use 30 g per serving (250 mL)... I don't have to keep ice cream in the freezer anymore, and the mixes don't use dairy, I can have as much as I want!!!
You can also make Hawaiian 'shaved ice' with the snow just add your homemade syrups!!!!
When it is summer I bought and use a manual Hawaiian ice shiver!!!! Only $30...

Very nice instructable, and the recipes look delicious. Unfortunately, due to the amount of air pollution in the average city, I wouldn't suggest eating the snow from your backyard, no matter how clean it looks.
