How to Apply Eyelash Extensions

For this instructable I will be teaching you how to apply eyelash extensions. there are 3 different types of extensions and they all give a different look starting from being very simple - being very dramatic: volume (very dramatic look) hybrid (not as noticeable as volume) and classics (very natural look). Today you will be learning how to apply classics. The types of lashes I will be using are C curl, 10mm and C curl, 11mm. The longer extensions (C 11mm) should be placed on the middle and the shorter ones on the inside and outside.

Step 1: Step 1

Get the following materials out- Gel removal, tweezers, glue, lashes, acetone, lash pads, medical tape, rubbing alcohol, air blower, makeup remover, Q-tips and primer.

Step 2: Step 2

Make sure that the client doesn’t have any makeup on. If so, remove the makeup with a face wipe.

Step 3: Step 3

Ask the client to look up with their eyes open and use the tape to tape down all of the bottom lashes.

Step 4: Step 4

Take the pads and apply them on top of the tape to get a nice smooth surface.

Step 5: Step 5

Ask the client to close their eyes. Grab a Q-tip and rub the upper lashes with the primer. This should remove any oils or dirt that are still on the lashes.

Step 6: Step 6

Grab your tweezers and isolate one eyelash.

Step 7: Step 7

Pick up an extension with one set of tweezers in on hand and the other set of tweezers in the other hand still isolating the lash. Once you have the extension, dip it in the glue. There should be one bead of glue on the lash.

Step 8: Step 8

Place the extension on the isolated lash. Be sure to place it close to the root but not so close that glue might touch the eyelid. Do steps 6,7 and 8 for each lash; alternate between eyes. Make sure you don't add them to the small lashes that grow under the long ones.

Step 9: Step 9

Every few lashes use the air blower to help dry the glue.

When you feel like you have completed all of the lashes, slowly peel the tape off of the clients lower lashes

After completing every lash you wanted to do, make sure you soak each tool in rubbing alcohol.

Step 12: Things to Know

If some glue gets on the skin or the lashes get stuck together, just put some gel removal on a Q-tip and lightly rub the affected area. (if you put too much gel removal on the affected area then this will sting the customers eyes from the chemical, so be careful!)

Step 13:

At the end, brush the clients lashes and clean each item with rubbing alcohol. If glue has gotten on the tweezers that you can’t get off then just rub a little acetone on it.

Every single one of these steps are just as important as the others. When learning how to do extensions it can be very difficult at first. Applying extension is just one of those things you get good at with practice. When I started out it took me about 2 and a half hours to complete the process but now after having several clients it only takes me an hour and a half.
