How to Draw: Anime-like Face

You will be learning how to draw this long-haired male with a blue streak

Step 1: Materials

Here's a list of materials that you need for this drawing:

Paper or Sketchbook

Pencil

Eraser

Inking pen (I used Micron 03)

Markers (I used Blick Studio Brush Markers)

Step 2: Step 1

First, you sketch out a circle. Then you draw a line with a wide V shape at the end.

Step 3: Step 2

After that, you start sketching out the chin and cheek part of the face. Be sure to try and make it symmetrical.

Step 4: Step 3

Then, draw 3 horizontal lines marking where the eyes and mouth go. Try to make them parallel to each other.

Step 5: Step 4

Sketch out vertical lines marking where the eye starts.

Step 6: Step 5

Start to sketch out an egg shape to make up the eye. Widen the bottom part so it doesn't look so much like an actual egg, though.

Make the pupils of the eyes and the shimmer in the eye. (I messed up on them in further steps)

Step 8: Step 7

Sketch out the nose and the mouth. Make the nose a right triangular shape that is shaded black. Then I draw the mouth like 2 dashes. ( _ _ )

Step 9: Step 8

Start drawing the hair to make up a frizzy-type long hair so that it makes up of a male-type long hair.

Step 10: Step 9

sketch out 2 horizontal lines to make up the base of the neck. (usually, males have bigger necks than females in drawing the anime-type face. This is a male, so have a bigger neck like in this image)

Step 11: Step 10

Draw the neck out.

Step 12: Step 11

Outline the drawing with your inking pen.

Step 13: Step 12

Add any additional details with the inking pen. (ie shading, filling in small gaps, etc.)

Step 14: Step 13

Lastly, Color in with markers. Make sure to add the streak in his hair.

Step 15: Done!
